Dollhouse Dining Table and Coffee Table DIY

I’m sure there are very fancy ways to make a dining table or coffee table for your dollhouse. This design is not fancy, but it is a quick craft! Both the dining table and coffee table tutorial below are very simple, round designs with a mid-century feel. You’ll need 1/8” thick basswood, and to be completely honest, a power saw does come in handy. The Dremel scroll saw is the one power tool I have in my arsenal, and it definitely was put to good use in this case. However, you can still use a hand coping-saw to make these two tables.

Materials

Note: Basswood is not the same a balsa wood. Balsa wood is much softer and porous. I prefer to work with basswood.

Start (as usual!) by tracing your pieces and cutting out your base materials. Use the PDF download below for a cutting template for both Dining Table or Coffee Table.

Cut the table top out using a scroll saw or a hand coping saw. The legs can be cut with the scroll saw, too, but those are pretty easy to do by hand if needed. Use a bit of sandpaper to clean up any rough edges on the circles or the legs.

Glue the legs to the underside of the table top, noting the placement on the PDF if needed. Be sure the angled part of the legs face inward, while the straight side of the leg is on the outside edge. Use Lego blocks to make sure your legs are sitting straight up at 90 degree while the glue dries.

From here you can paint or stain your table. And that’s it!

Mini Tip - Swap the table top and legs in this tutorial to make a round coffee table or an oval dining table.
