Ikea Flisat Dollhouse Bathroom Reveal

This bathroom turned out sweet and feminine and fun! In an effort to make this room a little more kid-friendly, I opted to purchase some furniture pieces while making others. One of my favorite pieces in this room was the vanity and sink cabinet! Read further below how I made a bathtub out of kitchen trash, too. Full tutorials for the vanity and mirror can be found just below:

Dollhouse Bathtub

I did not make a tutorial for this bathtub becuase, truly, I wasn’t sure it would turn out. It was an experiment using materials I already had on hand. Can you guess what the base of the tub is made from?

A cherry tomato container! I cleaned out the plastic container well, and then trimmed the top edge off. Then I covered the entire surface inside and out with a fine surface filler (I used this Polyfilla tube). It needed 2-3 coats with heavy sanding in between to build up enough structure. The plastic still flexes a little bit, and one day will most likely be destroyed by the dollhouse owner. In the end, the surface mimics stone a little bit and although I was hoping for “perfectly smooth”, I’ve grown to like the rougher surface.

To finish, I used a pre-purchased sink faucet and a white paper straw to make the tub faucet.
