Vermont Farmhouse Jr Dollhouse Bathroom Reveal
The bathroom renovation was a fun flip! What started off as a floral, traditional bathroom transformed into a pink, feminine, dreamy space. I created a custom vanity, mirror, sconces, and bench. I also purchased a white toilet and tub because I did not want to DIY those.
Materials
Basswood sheets and sticks in various sizes
Cardstock
Jewelry bead caps and glass ball findings
Brushed Knit fabric (for towels)
Paint & Rub’n’Buff
Bathtub and Toilet (Hobby Lobby or Amazon)
Wallpaper Be-gone
The first step was to remove the wallpaper, create a floor (more on that on my flooring blog), and paint the walls pink. The color I chose is Retro Pink by Behr. I added the supporting wall and window trim back in, and finished the plain room with baseboards and crown molding.
Bathroom Furniture
The most complex piece of furniture for this bathroom was the vanity. I constructed a box out of basswood sheets, then added legs and a pre-made sink and faucet. The mirror is a cardstock paper base, with scalloped edge and small frame of wood strips, on top of a plastic mirror. The rattan bench has some little raffia detail in the seat.
Other accessories include a gold sconce made from jewelry bead caps and a glass necklace pendant globe. I cut and folded towels out of some spare white brushed knit fabric. And lastly, a printed out and made a frame for this swan print from Anthropologie.
A coating of antique gold Rub’n’Buff on all the metal-like surfaces gave the room cohesion and is also easier than spray painting.
The Finished Bathroom
I think it all came together nicely! Head to Instagram to see some process videos and detail videography. What a fun room!
