The Final Reveal: Vermont Farmhouse Jr Dollhouse DIY Reno

What started as a free Facebook Marketplace find is finally finished - the Vermont Farmhouse Jr by Real Good Toys! I initially started this hobby (and later, this blog) with this house reno: completely gutted this damaged, traditional design and made it my own. Using it as a way to challenge myself with new interior design skills, this dollhouse served as my learning space and ultimately grew my love of miniatures into a fully-fledged hobby that I now accept as mine.

Be sure to check out The Starting Point: Vermont Farmhouse Jr. Dollhouse where I detailed the beginning state of the house and how I worked on the exterior.

Handmade Dollhouse Furniture

I did not initially plan on handcrafting all of the furniture in the house, but took on the challenge as I went. A few items were purchased, primarily the bathroom fixtures, but overall I am proud of the pieces I created and the lessons I’ve earned/learned along the way. This furniture blog has more featured pieces, including some smaller accessories.

Where To Next?

Since finishing this house, I have also completed an Ikea Flisat Dollhouse renovation that my daughter plays with. Read more about that house here.

I still have so much I want to learn and experiment with, but dollhouses sure take up a lot of room! My next projects will be one-off pieces that can be photographed singularly or added into room boxes. Until then, follow along on social media for any interim projects and updates! I’ll be keeping an eye out for my next “free” project…
